Download Econometrics Files

Follow these instructions to run a Stata do file that will download the Economics 203 files to your Jump Drive. For the do file to work, you must be on a computer on which the STATA statistical package is installed. The do file will create a folder on your jump drive called Econ203.  If you already have a folder by that name on the drive, please rename it before proceeding with these instructions. You will need approximately 175 MB of available space on the drive.

Instructions

  1. Insert your jump drive into a USB port on a computer with Stata installed, and select the “Open folder to view files” option.

  2. Once you've finished reading these instructions, Right Click on the link centered below and select the "Save link as" option.

  3. Browse to your jump drive and save the file: copyfiles.do to the drive.

  4. Double click on copyfiles.do. It will automatically launch Stata and create a folder called Econ203 on the jump drive. It will also make additional folders within that folder, and copy data and other files into those folders.

  5. The program is finished when you see the green "end of do-file" message.

  6. Right click the Econ203 folder on your jump drive and select Properties. The folder should contain approximately 171 MB of data.

  7. While the Properties window is still open, deselect the "Read only" option and apply it to all subfolders.

Right Click on this link
(Select: "Save link as" then
browse to your jump drive and save.)
